The Endomorph Dilemma – How to Lose Weight Fast
Why is it so horribly difficult for people like me to lose weight fast and keep it off?
I am an endomorph. I am a pear shaped endomorph who hangs onto every shred of fat by my hips and thighs.
It could be worse. I could be an apple shaped endomorph and if you are reading this and thinking "Hang on, that's me." What's she on about? " the answer is potentially quite a lot.
You apple shaped girls and guys have your fat storage around your upper body and that's where your heart and lungs need some breathing space to keep you alive. Fat around the top is dangerous fat, so it's got to come off or it will keep applying more and more discomforting and dangerous pressure to these vital organs.
It's just not fair. My husband is a mesomorph and he can eat much more than me, exercise less rigorously and maintain the weight he wants with ease. Now that's partly because men carry less fat anyway and they also burn more calories by nature, but it also has a lot to do with the forgiving nature of the mesomorph body compared to the grudging nature of the endomorph frame.
Whether we resemble an apple or a pear, diet and exercise is a real struggle for us endomorphs compared to the 2 other body shapes our parents could have bequeathed us.
The up and down ectomorph can eat anything but they do get a bit of a flabby tummy effect if they eat badly, which they often do. The superior mesomorph (hourglass shaped women and wide shouldered, slim hipped men) can drop weight and get moving fast and furiously with zest and determination for how long it takes to reach their goal.
We endomorphs are different. For us to lose weight fast we need a really strict and clean diet (with one or two cheat meals a week to keep us from going mean and snappy) and a regular exercise program, mainly cardio, 5-6 sessions a week.
We are by nature more slothlike than either the ectomorph (which nervous energy burns calories standing still) or the mesomorph (whose strength and determination will see them achieve ANYTHING they want to). We tend not to push ourselves until we have a REALLY good reason to do so. And we are excellent at talking ourselves out of clean diet and regular exercise.
To lose weight fast, the humble endomorph have to hone in on some tricks for our body type. We have to latch onto a motivation, a compelling and highly personal reason to lose weight fast. Once we have the reason, we can turn our weight loss dreams into reality.
Yes, it sure is more difficult for us to lose weight fast, but with the right mindset it definitely can be done.
